  3. Sitetip: Foursquare.com

    November 30, 2010 by Mike

Forget about Twitter, forget about Facebook, start with Foursquare. I never heard of it, until last time I was browsing on the web. It’s an online profile, and with your smartphone (or mobile phone with data) you can check-in at various locations in your own city that you visit. I thought it wasn’t big in the Netherlands, but when I performed a search to my own town ‘Huizen’, I got to discover a lot of spots that were already on the www, visited by various people. I found snackbars, supermarkets, even busses! The next weeks I’ll check in at various spots I go to, to check out all this. If a place doesn’t exist, you can create it yourself. And when you check-in, or give a tip on some spot, it’ll be published to your linked Facebook- and Twitter-page. So simple as that!

    Spots in Huizen at Foursquare

But what’s the purpose of this all? Well, it’s a funny way to show where you’re at, where you’re friends at, but you can also see tips that other people gave about your spot. Special things to order, or to do. You can add places or tips to your very own To-Do-List, or whenever you’ve done something already you can click on ‘I’ve done this’.

Do you have a smartphone? Then go to http://foursquare.com, sign up and contribute! (and add me as a friend =D)

  5. Twitter @BlackBerry

    April 12, 2010 by Mike

At the official mobile Twitter weblog, Twitter released their Twitter-app for the Blackberry smartphones. A great app for those BlackBerry owners that have a plan with internet. For those who are still relying on WiFi, I’m sorry. This app doesn’t support WiFi, nor do the Facebook & Hyves app. But there is a solution for this problem. Openbeak, formely known as TwitterBerry, is the WiFi solution for you.

  6. Nokia N79 Review

    August 16, 2009 by Mike

Nokia’s. Known as compact, simple, classy phones. But the N79 is the complete opposite. The great thing about WLAN (Wireless LAN) is that almost every household has one connection. It should be crazy as the mobile phone-producer didn’t do something with that. Just log in on your WLAN Connection and start surfing. Websites such as MSN, Ebuddy, Google and social communities make apps that you can install very simple on your mobile and use them. MSN-ing, watch movies at YouTube, searching with Google or checking the weather at MSN.com, it’s all very simple to reach!

The Nokia-interface is very good. There are billions of themes avaible on the web that you can use to pimp up that interface. I think pcs and mobile phones have more things in common these days than ever. Take for example the ‘File manager’ on the Nokia. Isn’t that just similiar to the Windows Explorer? The only difference between mobile phones and pcs is ofcourse that mobiles are for calling and texting!

You can listen to FM Station (with the beautiful headset), but you can also listen to the webstations via network or WLAN. Besides listening to FM you can also send out FM! Up to 4 meters on a by you chosen frequency. Example – I was sending out at 107,5 Mhz, my radio was also at 107,5 Mhz. I heard the song from my mobile on my radio!

The screen flips if your flip it over, that’s very handy for internet or so. The mobile comes with a 4GB memory card, 5 megapixel at the back and a little at the front.

The back has three different designs. At this moment I have red, but I can change it into white or blue.

Overall, I give this mobile a thick fat A!
